POWER SUPPLY
DC power supply
Batteries (not included)
Open the battery compartment and insert 8 size “C” Cells (preferably alkaline) with the correct polarity
as indicated by the “+” and “–” symbols inside the compartment.
Incorrect use of batteries can cause electrolyte leakage and will corrode the compartment or cause the
batteries to burst. Therefore:
• Do not mix battery types: e.g. alkaline with carbon zinc. Only use batteries of the same type for the
device.
• When inserting new batteries, do not mix old batteries with the new ones.
• Remove the batteries if the device is not to be used for a long time.
Device power supply (mains AC 230V/50Hz)
1. Check if the power voltage, as shown on the identication plate on the bottom of the device,
corresponds to your local AC power supply.
2. Connect the power cord to the AC MAINS inlet and the wall outlet. The power supply is now
connected and ready for use.
3. To switch off completely, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Note: the battery is disconnected once the AC/DC 9V adaptor is plugged into the device.
STANDBY FUNCTION
Switching to STANDBY to save energy.
1. Press the POWER button to turn off the device.
2. The display is blank and this indicates that the device is off.
3. Whether you are using mains or battery supply, always switch the device to STANDBY mode to
avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
Note: In CD, USB & AUX mode, the device will automatically switch off if the main function is inactive
for more than 15 minutes. For example, if music has nished playing and is stopped for more than
15 minutes, the device will switch to standby mode to save energy, as required by ERP II.
GENERAL OPERATION
1. Select your sound source by pressing the FUNCTION button.
2. Increase the volume by rotating the VOL +/– knob clockwise and decrease the volume by rotating
the VOL +/– knob anticlockwise.
3. To switch off the device, press the POWER button.
