INSTALLATION GUIDE: FLAT LED POOL SPOTLIGHT
EN
Only use spare parts supplied by Hayward® brands
Description of spotlight
The LED bulbs (white and coloured) are designed to light up pools of all types (in-ground and
above-ground).
These spotlights can be installed on all new construction or renovation projects (concrete, liner,
fibreglass or panel).
The bulbs are class III and IP68 rated at 1m. They have a very low safety supply voltage of 12VAC
(white and RGB) or 20 VDC (white).
Recommendation for spotlight installation:
The spotlight must point away from the house or patio to prevent intrusive light levels.
The spotlight must be positioned no more than 60 cm below the coping (distance measured from the
bulb axis). The cable attached to the bulb is 2 m long.
The junction box is not supplied. The installation requires a professional opinion.
The installer should select the correct mount for the type of pool.
Make sure the vertical surface on which the spotlight will be mounted is flat.
Concrete pool:
• Drill a hole through
which the bulb cable will
pass, and make the hole
watertight.
• Attach the wall mount
vertically using the
4screws.
• Coil up the extra cable inside the trim ring and screw the trim
ring to the wall mount.
Liner pool:
• Drill a hole
in the wall and
embed the 2“
wall insert.
• Pierce the
liner. Position
the 2 black seals
one of each side of the liner, and attach the mount to the wall
insert using the 4 screws.
• Pass the bulb cable through the cable seal.
• Tighten the seal-tightening nut using a key.
• Coil up the extra cable inside the trim ring and screw the trim
ring to the wall mount.
Panel pool:
• Unscrew the 2 nuts.
• Drill 2 holes in the
panel.
• Position the wall mount
vertically.
• Screw up the upper nut
after putting the seal in
place.
• Put the seal of the lower nut in place, pass the bulb cable
through the seal and screw up the nut.
• Tighten the nut using a key.
• Coil up the extra cable inside the trim ring and screw the trim
ring to the wall mount.
MOUNTING THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE WALL (Series 3464):
MOUNTING THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE WALL (Series 3469):

CONNECTING THE BULB TO THE POWER SUPPLY:
Cable of sufficient length must be left during the renovation to allow the bulb to be replaced out of the water at a
later date if necessary.
• Pass the spotlight bulb cable through the conduit to the junction box.
• Connect the lamp(s) to a transformer which has a secondary circuit output voltage of 12 VAC. The transformer
power (minimum power = 21.5 VA for a white bulb and 21.5 VA for a RGB bulb) must be sufficient for the power of
the lamp(s) that will be connected. In all cases, the sum of the spotlight powers must remain less than or equal to
the transformer power.
If the connection between the bulb and the transformer is underwater, the connection must be watertight (either
with a double cable-gland, or with epoxy gel). If it is not watertight, water will enter the bulb via the cable.
Ensure the bulb is fully submerged before use.
Each spotlight must have a separate protection. 5A and 6A fuses and circuit breakers must be used to provide
protection on the secondary circuit of the transformer.
Example of connection
OPERATION WITH HAYWARD COLOUR LED BULBS:
All Hayward LED bulbs (PAR56, flat, mini) can be connected and twinned on a single control box.
Synchronisation:
to turn on all LEDs connected to the same control box under programme 1 (white), use the button
on the box to cut power to the LEDs and switch it on again between 6 and 15 s later.
Change of programme: use the button on the control box to cut power to the LEDs and switch it on again
between 1 and 3s later.
Memory: all the LEDs will turn on with the programme most recently saved if power to the LEDs is switched off
for more than 30s.
MAINTENANCE AND END-OF-LIFE DISPOSAL OF BULBS AND REMOTE CONTROL:
• Genuine Hayward spare parts must be used for part replacements. • The bulb must be replaced out of the water. • Replacement of the bulb in this light must only be performed by the manufacturer, their
maintenance agent or by a person with an equivalent qualification. • When the bulb and/or cable is changed, it is recommended that all parts making the device watertight are changed at the same time. •
When the bulb is replaced, the seal and waterproofing elements must also be replaced, ensuring they are positioned correctly. • If the device stops working, the entire LED bulb must be replaced. Do not open
or attempt to repair the bulb. • If the supply cable or its conduit is damaged, to avoid an accident they must be replaced by the manufacturer, an Accredited Service Centre or a qualified technician. • The cable
must comply with the following mechanical and electrical requirements: H05RN-F with a minimum cross-section of 2x1.5mm².
The crossed-out bin symbol indicates selective collection of electrical or electronic devices. This means that these devices and their waste must be taken to waste sorting centres and not thrown
away with household waste. For more information, contact your town hall or the distributor that you bought the product from. Disposal of electrical and electronic devices in the correct manner helps
to avoid potential damage to the environment and human health, and to conserve natural resources.
