These instructions aim to ensure the correct and totally
safe use of your Campingaz
®
CV Garden Torch thermal
weed killer.
Please read them carefully to familiarise yourself
with the equipment prior to assembling the gas
container.
Please observe these instructions and the safety
measures printed on the Campingaz
®
CV 270 PLUS /
CV 300 PLUS / CV 470 PLUS cartridges. Failure to
observe these instructions may result in the user and
people in the immediate vicinity being put at risk.
Keep these instructions in a safe place so that you
can refer to them if needed.
This equipment must be used exclusively with
Campingaz
®
CV 270 PLUS / CV 300 PLUS / CV 470
PLUS cartridges. Using other gas containers may be
dangerous.
The Société Application Des Gaz (Gas Enforcement
Company) accepts no responsibility where cartrid-
ges of any other make are used.
This equipment must only be used outside premises
and at a good distance from any flammable material.
Do not use equipment which leaks, functions incor-
rectly or is damaged. Return it to your retailer who
will inform you of your nearest after-sales service.
Never modify this equipment or use it for purposes
for which it is not intended.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
BE CAREFUL OF FIRE RISK! DRY GRASS CATCHES
ON FIRE EASILY AND FIRE CAN SPREAD QUICKLY.
- Follow local regulations defining prohibitions on fire
use (available from your municipal government).
- Wear gloves.
- Wear closed shoes.
- Avoid breathing in combustion flames.
- Do not kill weeds in an area with an enclosed volume.
- Do not leave within the reach of children.

is done by provoking a thermal shock on the plants to be
eliminated.

The idea is not to burn the plant, but only to heat it for a
few seconds. You will see that the plant immediately
shrivels and changes color. It fades and disintegrates
within the next few days.
Please note:
- This device is not mean for treating lawns; rather, it is
for the care of gardens, borders, rock gardens and
walks with flagstones or paving.
- For best results, kill weeds in the spring when the
plant is very young (first appearance) or in the fall
(lowering of sap level).
- For perennials, it is necessary to intervene a number
of times at close intervals.
ASSEMBLING THE DEVICE
- Remove the device from its packaging (fig. 1).
- Check that the gasket (1) found on the nozzle outlet
connection is present and in proper working order (fig. 2).
Do not use the device if the seal is missing or
damaged: return it to your dealer.
- Screw the nozzle on the handle outlet connection (fig. 3).

When installing or changing a cartridge, always ope-
rate in a very well-ventilated location, preferably out-
side, never near a flame, heat source or spark (ciga-
rette, electric apparatus, etc.) and far away from other
people and inflammable materials.

DESIGNED TO OPERATE EXCLUSIVELY WITH
THESE CARTRIDGES.
- Check that the gas supply is fully turned off by turning
the control wheel (2) clockwise as far as the handle
("-" direction of the arrow) (fig. 4).
- Hold the thermal weed killer by its handle. Insert the
cartridge into the equipment and tighten it by turning it
gently clockwise until you hear a click (about one sixth
of a turn) (fig. 5). Do not tighten the cartridge further,
as you may damage its valve.
The thermal weed killer is ready to use.
